I took a class this evening about gem and mineral magic by Brandie Taylor of Magic Hour Astrology. We talked about the energies and inherent tendencies of gems, crystals, stones, etc. The fiery energy of the carnelian or the soothing watery energy of a larimar stone. How to clear, charge and set in a grid the stones in your collection.

I like being around other people interested in and that believe in the energy the universe is emitting at all times. We can tap into it. We tap into it whether we know it or not. The energy of the earth around us flows through us and alters the trajectory of your path ever so slightly. The class was full of ladies ready to make gem essences out of their favorite stone to ward off psychic vampires.

My collection of crystals has grown over time, a few here and a few there. Some were gifts — my favorite being a large tiger’s eye worry stone that my friend Jim gave me despite not believing in gem magic at all. I bought some because I was looking for that specific crystal, like labradorite. I bought others because they felt good in my hands and needed to come home with me, like peach agate.

The next time you walk by a metaphysical store, pop in and look at all the crystals. One will call out to you and ask you to hold it. And then it’s pretty much a “no” feeling or a “yes” feeling right away. Take home one of the yeses and put it by your bed or in your pocket or your bathtub. The universe has some energy for you.
